Osram 384 / 450 Lens Strip

Even signage backlight with optical lens control — a signage backlight / high evenness lighting solution.

Signage Backlight / High Evenness Lighting Solution

Osram 384 / 450 Lens Strip

The Osram 384 and 450 Lens Strip is a high-performance signage backlighting solution designed to deliver strong brightness with excellent light uniformity. The integrated optical lens system distributes light evenly across signage surfaces, making it suitable even for shallow lightbox designs.

Built for modular installation, the strip is cuttable every 3 LEDs, allowing flexible site adaptation. The system is sealed with IP65 protection and UV-resistant epoxy to ensure long-term outdoor durability and stable optical performance.

175° vs 160° — how far one strip throws light

Cross-section through a lightbox. Same strip, same box depth d — only the lens angle changes.

175° lens model 384-175 sign face (diffuser) lightbox back panel lit width ≈ 46 × d 160° lens model 450-160 sign face (diffuser) lightbox back panel lit width ≈ 11 × d d = box depth From the same depth, the 175° lens covers about 4× more of the sign face.

Drawn to true beam angle, measured to the 50 % intensity edge — the standard beam-angle convention. Lit width is the geometric spread from a single strip before neighbouring strips overlap; real uniformity also depends on strip spacing and diffuser choice.

Installation Flexibility

Cut every 3 LEDs to fit any lightbox

The strip is designed for modular signage fabrication, allowing installers to cut every 3 LEDs for precise fitting inside different lightbox sizes. Lens control ensures even illumination even in shallow depth signage, reducing hotspots and dark areas.
